We are pleased to announce that Thames Valley District School Board now has access to Sora, a user-friendly student-reading App that provides students and teachers to access ebooks and audiobooks at no charge through their laptop, phone or tablet. The Sora App empowers students to discover and enjoy ebooks and audiobooks for both leisure and class-assigned reading. TVDSB has access to three (free) ebook collections in Sora, which includes over 250 titles. The current loan period is 14 days and can be renewed.

Personalized with book recommendations and learning tools like dyslexic font, enlarged text, and audiobooks

Same experience on all devices
Students in Gr. 1-6 have access to the Juvenile collection; Students in Gr. 7-12 & teachers have access to Juvenile & Young Adult collections (all titles)
The Remote Reading Bundle (250 titles) is available until June 30, 2020
Sora Sweet Reads - Summer Reading Program collection (30 titles) is available until July 31, 2020
Starter Bundle (approx. 100 titles) is available until June 12, 2021

To access:

Step 1: In your browser go to https://soraapp.com/library/tvdsbca
OR
when signed into your gotvdsb account go to Google Apps (waffle/9 dots) and scroll down to click on the SORA App
OR
download the Sora app through the Google Play and Apple App stores and click "I have a setup code" and use setup code “tvdsbca”

Step 2: Sign in with your gotvdsb Gmail username and password.

Step 3: Browse the Explore tab and borrow a book. Your book will open so you can start reading or listening right away.

Step 4: Go to your Shelf to see all your books.

Tap Open Book or Open Audiobook to read or listen to the book where you left off. Tap Options to renew or return a book, get to your notes and highlights, and more.
